THE FORMING TABLE

Figure 8
The EXO-FORMER 24’s FORMING TABLE (figure 8) incorporates an integrated three-stage VACUUM MOTOR
that is capable of pulling approximately 5 PSI (pounds per square inch),
which is equal (in vacuum science terms) to roughly 134” of water or 10” of
mercury. The integrated VACUUM MOTOR has an airflow capacity of
approximately 92 CFM (cubic feet per minute).
The heavy duty VACUUM PLATEN (FORMING TABLE top) is made of Stainless Steel,
measures 21.5” x 21.5”, and can hold heavy molds weighing up to 80 pounds.
The VACUUM PLATEN’S surface incorporates 1/16” holes that provide adequate
airflow around objects or molds placed on the forming table (figure 9).

Figure 9
At the base of the FORMING TABLE are a series of ventilation holes. These
holes allow air to be rapidly exhausted from the vacuum system (figure 10).

Figure 10
Included with EXO-FORMER 24 is a heavy-duty FOOT SWITCH (figure 11). This
switch allows you to conveniently turn the VACUUM MOTOR on and off by using
your foot. Stepping on the switch turns the motor on. The motor will stay on
until you step on the switch again. You do not need to maintain pressure on
the switch to keep the VACUUM MOTOR running.

Figure 11
Located on the side of the FORMING TABLE is a capped 1/4” NPT male-threaded
brass EXTERNAL VACUUM PUMP CONNECTOR that can be used, when uncapped, to
attach an EXTERNAL VACUUM PUMP (not included). Having an EXTERNAL VACUUM
PUMP attached to the connector will allow you to create forms with much
greater detail than would be possible with the INTERNAL VACUUM MOTOR alone.
When using the EXO-FORMER 24 without an EXTERNAL VACUUM PUMP attached, you
will need to make sure the cap is securely in place, this will prevent
outside air from reducing the effectiveness of the INTERNAL VACUUM MOTOR.
